Mid-Century modern scandinavian stool model ML42 by Mogens Lassen, new edition. In 1942 Mogens Lassen designed the Stool ML42 as a piece for a furniture exhibition held at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art. He took inspiration from the stools used by the shoemakers of the past, and transferred the light, elegant look to the creation of this sculptural three-legged stool. The Stool ML42 is still manufactured in Denmark to this day with a focus on quality and Danish craftsmanship, and is considered a collector’s item by international design connoisseurs.

Architect Mogens Lassen trained at the Technical School 1919-23 and continued his training at various design practices. He had his own design practice from 1935.
Mogens Lassen was inspired by European functionalism, which particularly characterized his early works. The white single-family houses are influenced by Le Corbusier’s cubism, and the simple steel tube furniture, such as the armchair (RP03169), by the German Bauhaus school.
