Swan Pendant Lamp. Available in natural Walnut, Oak and Birch. Also available with an exterior staining in Black or White (+ 65). Casambi Switch. Wall switch that allows the user to manually control the lighting. Black by default, you can ask for a white switch when ordering. The Swan Pendant combines functionality with a smooth and curvy design, being an elegant but functional choice for interiors with even the most demanding requirements for an impressive appearance. Mikko Kärkkäinen
Tunto Design’s founder and designer Mikko Kärkkäinen has made an art form out of combining the natural beauty of wood with the latest LED & OLED technology. With a background in both design and artisan carpentry, Kärkkäinen has a long history with using wooden materials creatively.
True to the company name “Tunto” (Finnish for sense or feeling), Kärkkäinen still begins each design process by getting a physical feel for the material and drawing initial designs on paper. Mikko’s depth of knowledge means he is able to think outside the proverbial box when he’s designing. Hence, every Tunto Design product ends up with a distinctive DNA that results from Mikko’s unique point of view.
Mikko’s designs for Tunto have received numerous international awards over the years. He has also been recognized as one of the prominent contemporary European designers in the form of the “Europe 40 under 40” award, and has received the official Finnish State Award in Design 2015.
