Mads Odgård

The Danish designer Mads Odgård (1960 to present), is a leading figure in a new generation of international designers. He is a minimalist and a 'less is more' man, who would rather deduct than add. More than anything, he believes that excellent design must be logical and functional if it is to endure.

Since 1988, The Mads Odgård Design Studio, has focused on product design with the mission to improve that which already exists and most importantly, give the user spontaneous delight. Design can be successful only when the balance of all these factors is attained and comfort, technology, ergonomics, ecology, economics, aesthetics exists.

Mads Odgård has designed and developed a wide range of products for a long list of reputed, visionary clients, both in Scandinavia and abroad. According to Mads Odgård, “design should be human and logical in form. The design process consists of a series of choices and I must make the best possible at every step. Products must be understandable if they are to endure and reach all walks of life.”
