Designed by Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen, the inventive, curvilinear shape of the Pagode Sofa is as relevant today as it was when first designed in 1956. Looking to Asian architecture and temples for inspiration, the elegant design features beautifully crafted V-shaped wooden legs and a low seat with distinctive armrests and a high back to cradle and support.

Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen
Denmark
Danish couple Edvard and Tove Kindt-Larsen made a great contribution to design. Common to all their work were an astute sense of quality and an ability to work in a recognised idiom that precisely coincided with the taste of the day. Both Tove and Edvard studied with Professor Kaare Klint at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1927. They established their design office together in 1945 and had a long career working in design and architecture throughout the 20th Century. They were diverse and eclectic designers, creating textiles, lighting, jewelry, glass, typography and more.
