Classic, refined armchair created in the 50s by the renowned Danish architect Hans Olsen. The armchair is now also available in an exclusive anniversary edition with sustainable textile, launched on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Hans Olsen's birth. Mr. Olsen is an original design that fits equally well in the men's room as a feminine corner sofa, in the home office and in the summer house. All the places where classic furniture art makes all the difference. The armchair is both slim and organic in its expression and contributes an unusual lightness compared to other design classics of the period. Mr. Olsen's special elegance can be attributed in particular to the soft shapes of the armchair's armrests and the tapered round legs. The armchair is available in both a classic leather version and fully upholstered in beautiful textiles, including a sophisticated velor version for a more daring expression.

Choose from various exclusive furniture fabrics from, among others, Kvadrat in several classic colors from the Warm Nordic universe. The frame is available in both oiled and smoked oak of the highest quality.

The anniversary edition of Mr. The Olsen armchair has a lively and elegant expression and combines two different sustainable textiles from Kvadrat - Re-wool and Merit by Maraham - which excel in both environmental friendliness, sensuality and quality. The frame of the anniversary armchair is made of FSC-certified wood.

Hans Olsen

Born in 1919 in Denmark, Hans Olsen (1919-1992) was a Danish furniture designer who created numerous pieces in his own distinctive style. He pursued his studies at the Royal Danish Academy under the direction of the famous designer Kaare Klint from 1941 to 1943. He opened his own studio in 1953 and began to exhibit his works at the Cabinetmakers Guild in Copenhagen. Il n’est pas considered comme faisant partie de l’école moderne danois traditionnelle mais réalisé des pieces pour cercins des fabricants danois de grande renownement comme Bramin Møbler et Juul Kistensen.

Olsen's work is characteristic of mid-20th century design, presenting plunging organic curves and the fusion of multiple materials in one piece. The designer was known for his innovative utilization of wood lamellé plié, as evidenced by his emblematic Bikini Chair. Created for the first time in 1960 for Frem Røjle, a furniture manufacturing company, this aura led to the many collaborations for several pieces, now famous. Conçue pour flatter ses courbes tel un bikini, cette creation est un exemple du style moderne danois du milieu du siècle, se distinguant par son distinctive design et son utilization innovante des materials.

Another must-have piece of the creator is the Fried Egg Chair. This chaise longue is unique in its genre.
