Arne Norell
(1917-1971)
Swedish designer.
Arne Norell was a multifaceted designer, who experimented with many combinations of different materials. He gained an interest in classic furniture and in 1954 he founded the company Möbel AB Arne Norell where he designs and manufactures furniture. His most famous and popular piece is the chair "Ari", created in 1966. In 1973, the British furniture manufacturers reward him with "showpiece of the Year" (the gem of the year). His company still manufactures, using his designs under the name of "Ab Norell Möbler."
