Designed in 1938 by Kay Bojesen, the Grand Prix line received the grand prix of design at the Milan Motor Show in 1951. Hence its name.
This line, of astonishing modernity, is a reference of the decorative arts and an example of functionalism applied to the arts of the table.
In 1952 Kay Bojesen becomes official supplier of his Majesty the King of Denmark and still provides the Queen.
The Grand Prix cutlery has become the "national" line, present in all Danish embassies around the world.
The Grand Prix cutlery by Kay Bojesen was no longer produced after his death in 1958. Since 2013, his granddaughter Susanne Bojesen Rosenqvist has reissued them.
Kay Bojesen "Grand Prix" cutlery is also available in matte steel and solid silver (on request only).
The complete collection includes more than 27 elements. To compose your custom housewife, do not hesitate to contact us.

Kay Bojesen
Denmark (1886-1958)
Kay Bojesen finished his training as a silversmith in 1910 and in 1913 he established his own workshop. He was one of the originators in the establishment of The Permanent Exhibition of Danish Arts and Crafts and Industrial Design in 1931.
Kay Bojesen worked both as a silversmith and a designer. He was originally influenced by the Danish arts and crafts style, Skønvirke, but graduallydeveloped a moderate functionalism. This was expressed in his works in both silver and stainless steel, as well as the wooden toys, among them the famous ape from 1951.
Bojesen has, however, also created a few products in cane such as the doll’s bed.
