The Lounge Chair, made in Denmark, is the first chair in HANDVÄRK’s collection. Uncompromising on material, style and craftsmanship, the piece is produced by hand in HANDVÄRK’s workshop and covered in velvet-smooth aniline leather by a local Danish upholsterer. The sleek black frame adds the Nordic essence. Each Lounge Chair is meticulously made to order, and can be finished in custom leather or fabric if desired.

Emil Thorup
Emil Thorup is the founder of HANDVÄRK. The 34 year-old self-taught architect and designer nurtures a passion for design and aesthetics since he was a child. Since then, Thorup has been working with the danish studio LW Design, mostly specialized in designing hotels and housing. They have many agencies around the world, in Hong Kong, Sao Paulo and Dubaï.
More recently, Emil Thorup has been developping a series of prefabricaded luxurious villas for a prestigious danish company. This concept is based on his very first residential production, the « Nordic Noir » house.
Launched in 2015, HANDVÄRK has been acclaimed by press and recognized amongst designers. His scandinavian minimalism expresses itself through materials such as leather, brass and marble. His creations have granted him more than 50 publications in 8 countries within 6 weeks.
Emil Thorup is currently working on the next HANDVÄRK collection, and from what we know, he’s introducing new materials such as slate, granite, pink gold and velvet.
