Scandinavian sofa model Niu.
NIU is inspired by a box that opens and gives you a glimpse of what is hidden inside. The walls lean back and to the side, giving the sofa a dynamic character that is interesting from every angle. In Catalan "Niu" means "nest", and that's exactly what designer Hallgeir Homstvedt wanted to create; a protected area of the interior with high walls, an interior filled with soft cushions and a generous depth made to share.
The Niu couch has two cushions per seat and one cushion per armrest. The legs are black stained steel.
Since 1945 Hjelle makes her sofas piece by piece, by hand, in her workshops in Norway.
