Søren Hansen

Hansen, Søren 1905-1977

Søren Hansen finished his training as a cabinetmaker in 1925. After having finished a business training course, he entered the family furniture manufacturing company, Fritz Hansen. In the period 1955-75 he was co- director.
Søren Hansen was a furniture manufacturer, but he also designed several pieces of furniture. A good example is the dining room chair (RP01459). The chair is made from steambent wood, a technique which Fritz Hansen started using in the 1970s, before the company invested in laminated wood.
