Paul Dupré Lafon

Paul Dupre Lafon left Marseille with a degree in architecture and design, and then moved to Paris in 1925. His creations are strongly influenced by the Art Deco style, an era rich artistically. Dupré Lafon creations are for rich clients for whom he produced objects and furniture of great refinement.

Paul Dupre Lafon draws perfectly a dresser, a series of wall, but he also focuses on the architecture, graphics, design or silverware. It is thanks to Jacques Doucet a great artist of his time, he will make his first discovery of cubist art, but his work was closer to the "functionalism" made in the tradition of excellence.

What characterizes the furniture of Dupré Lafon is material sensitivity, often luxurious as rosewood, Macassar wood or ivory. The simple and obvious lines are accentuated by the effects of wood material sets with chromed metal, stone or iron. They meet on the same piece of furniture, each plays its part and contribute to the effects of contrast and accentuate the clean lines.

Paul Dupre Lafon died in 1971 leaving an outstanding legacy of more than 40 global creations where all parts were designed by him.
